Location: DC Batch Processes/Import Fund Rates
The Import Fund Rates batch imports a flat file of fund rates, tests the individual rates against system and/or client-specified validations, and posts each rate to the appropriate fund.
The individual events in this process are meant to be run in sequence.
Use the following steps as a guide to run the Import Fund Rates batch online.
To perform the Import Fund Rates event, complete the following steps:
From DC Batch Processes, click to select the Import Fund Rates event. The system displays the Data Import wizard.
Using the Browse button, navigate to the Fund Rates data file and then click Submit.
The system displays an 'Import completed' Status message. Note: Further information may be provided regarding invalid records.
Click Next to provide access to the Import Log file(s).
Click the View icon beside the Bad Records file (if any) to open and view records that could not be loaded.
Click the View icon beside the Run file to open and view the Import Log file. For a technical user, the Import Log file contains much useful information, but even for the non-technical user, this file displays the Date and Time the import was run and the names of the Control and Data file used. Example:
If you scroll down the file, you can view further information, such as the number of rows successfully loaded and read and the number of rows rejected. Notice that the time taken to run the import was approximately two minutes. Example:
From DC Batch Processes, click to select the View Imported Fund Rates event. The system displays the import buffer.
From DC Batch Processes, click to select the View Header event. The system displays the Rate Date.
From DC Batch Processes, click to select the View Footer event. The system displays the total number of records imported.
From DC Batch Processes, click to select the Test Imported Fund Rates event. The system displays the Batch Import wizard with the Validate fund rates task selected.
Click Finish to run the Validate fund rates task .
From DC Batch Processes, click to select the Post Imported Fund Rates event. The system displays the Batch Import wizard with the Post fund rates task selected.
If the Summary is correct, click Finish. The system then posts the fund rates to the appropriate rate tables. Notice that the Imported Fund Rates browser now shows the Last Test Result column for each record (OK) and Posted = Yes.
