Location: DC Batch Processes/Charge Asset Based Fees
A Plan Fees batch (in this case, the Charge Asset Based Fees) calculates the required fees according to instructions set up in Rules, and then posts fee to the appropriate member funds.
The individual events in this process are meant to be run in sequence.
Use the following steps as a guide to run Charge Asset Based Fees online.
To perform the Charge Asset Based Fees event, complete the following steps:
From DC Batch Processes, click to select the Charge Asset Based Fees event. The system displays the Batch wizard.
Using the arrows provided, move the Calculate (buffer mode) task from the Available Tasks list to the Selected Tasks list.
Click Next to advance to the Select Parameters screen.
Using the option buttons provided, click New to enable the selection of new parameters. (Note: Clicking Last Run sets the parameters to those chosen from the previous run. Clicking Previous Run enables the drop-down list from which you can a run to use.)
Click Next to advance to the Set Batch Parameters screen.
From the drop-down lists, select the Client and the Plan.
Use the calendar to input the Calculation Date, and leave the default Employer at 'All'.
Click Next to advance to the Summary screen. Notice that the Summary displays the task selected to be run.
If the Summary is correct, click Finish. The system displays the Running Batches browser, however, often the batch has been completed so quickly (and is no longer running), so that the browser appears empty.
From DC Batch Processes, click to select the View Output event. The system displays the fees buffer.
From DC Batch Processes, click to select the Post Fees event. The system displays the Batch Import wizard with the Post buffer task selected.
If the Summary is correct, click Finish. The system then posts the fees to the appropriate member records. Notice that the Output Generated browser now shows Posted = Yes.
If you search for and open a member record, and then select View Funds from the DC Admin Process, you can see that the fee transactions have been posted.
