How to Perform a Switch Online

Location: DC Admin Process/Switch

To run a switch calculation via CPAS Online, do the following:

  1. Ensure that the correct plan is selected and from the DC Admin process, click to select the Switch event. The system displays the Calculation wizard with the Calculation Type 'Switch' selected.

  2. If necessary, use the Calendar to change the default Transaction Date.

  3. From the Source drop-down list, select the source from which to make the switch.

  1. Click Next to display the From Fund(s) screen.

  2. Using the option buttons provided, select the first fund from which you want to transfer money and enter the Amount in the field provided.

  3. Select the second fund. Notice that as you select the second fund, the Amount entered for the first fund is saved.

  4. Select all 'from' funds as required and enter transfer/switch amounts. In this case, $400.00 from the Cash Account.

  1. Click Next to display the To Fund(s) screen.

  2. Using the option buttons provided, select the first fund to which you want to transfer and enter the Amount in the field provided.

  3. Select the second fund. Notice that as you select the second fund, the amount entered for the first fund is saved and the 'Total Allocated' and 'Total Remaining' amounts are updated.

  4. Select funds and enter switch amounts until the Total Remaining amount is zero. In this case, the entire amount is transferred to the unitized fund, Diversified.

  1. Click Next to display the Summary.

  1. If the Summary is correct, click Finish.
